Changing Your Windows Screensaver
For many people the default screesaver that is used for Windows can be quite boring. Most users would like to have a different image or effect but don’t know how to go about changing their screensaver. Fortunately it is quite easy to do!
Windows XP
- Right click on your desktop
- Select Properties
- Click on the Screensaver tab
- Scroll through the list of available screensavers
- Customize the screensaver using the Settings button if available
- Set the timeout for the screensaver to activate, click Apply then OK
Windows Vista
- Right click on your desktop
- Select Personalize
- Click on Screen Saver
- Select your screensaver using the drop down box
- Customize the screensaver using the Settings button if available
- Set the timeout for the screensaver to activate, click Apply then OK
If you have a Windows password set for your user account you can also check the checkbox so that when your computer comes back from the screensaver you have to enter the password to access it.
There are thousands if not hundreds of thousands of screensavers available nowadays. There are many popular screensavers available for free and you can even find screensavers themed toward the holidays.
